AD9850 is a highly integrated device that uses advanced DDS technology, built a high-speed, high performance DAC and comparators, together constitute a complete digital programmable frequency synthesizer and clock generator. An accurate clock source as a reference, AD9850 generates a spectrally pure, frequency / phase-programmable, analog output sine wave. The sine wave can be directly used as the frequency source, or converted for agile square wave clock generator applications. AD9850's innovative high speed DDS core provides a 32-bit frequency tuning word; For the 125 MHz reference clock input, output tuning resolution of 0.0291 Hz. The circuit architecture allows the AD9850 generates the reference clock frequency of up to half (or 62.5 MHz) output frequency and output frequency can be up to 23 million new frequencies per second rate digitally changed (asynchronous). The device also provides five digital control phase modulation, so that the output can be 180 °, 90 °, 45 °, 22.5 °, 11.25 ° and any combination of incremental phase shift occurs.
